In all my reading about transracial adoption parenting, I see the same sentiment over and over: it's important to introduce your child to their culture and integrate that culture (food, music, holidays) into your family traditions. I am not a transracial adoptee so I can't claim to know how it would feel, but I know a few adoptees who have said they didn't like that. Either they simply weren't interested in learning about the culture or they didn't like it because it made them feel even more different. Is this a common thought? What can you do for kids who feel this way?
