Can anyone tell me the type of contents in your adoption file that was ordered from the Ohio Department of Health for a post-1964, pre-1996 birth? For my professional license, I need access to all of the pleadings and court documents in addition to my original birth certificate and other vital records. ODH would not tell me if that kind of information is ever included. Also, does anyone know if it is possible to get pre-1992 affidavits of paternity? The Paternity Registry in Ohio purged their records and sent me back to ODH (who had just sent me there). On a side note, it really bothers me that my new state feels this information is necessary. They aren't using it to establish identity, but rather to assess my character. Ugh. Thanks for any help. I am glad to have found this community.
