We are trying to adopt two girls from Russia that we met this summer. Because we are Canadian we are not eligable for a I-600 to get the girls into the U.S. we applied for humanitarian parole for the girls and we were denied. We are now going back to our Senetors office to see what can be done. We need to get the immigration law that says you must be a citizen to bring in international children CHANGED!!!!!!!!!! I would love to get a group of people together and see how this can be done. Canada and the UK do not have this law. Hundreds of children are not being adopted because of it. Please reply if you want to help change this. Clare

Yes, I agree and would like to see a change in the law as well. At least to allow permanent residents (if not US citizens) to adopt internationally. We are UK citizens living here in the US.
