Illinois daycare costs - do we pay extra?

Hi, we've had our foster since August. The way I understood it, the state approved daycare center was paid directly by the state at the state rate. Today, we were told the state pays $37 and since the center charges $47 we were being billed the extra $10 a day SINCE AUGUST and now have a $2000 balance.

Does anyone know how this works? Are we really on the hook for the overage?

Talk to your caseworker. In NY, DSS paid all childcare costs bu7t it took awhile for it to get set up. Also, DSS may have a list of day care facilities that they use.
