Just need to vent! We're looking to adopt a sibling group and are frustrated! We were offered $575/mn subsidy for both...one has autism and has adaptive difficulties in all areas(specialized loc) and one has CP(moderate loc)... Both are not getting what they need and yet TPR occurred due to educational and medical neglect. The one with autism has never had a full evaluation and receives what I think are wholly inadequate services. The one with CP use to walk with braces but now doesn't have braces and foster mom doesn't want to pursue it...no PT/OT either...and she crawls around in her classroom! Yet, these kids aren't eligible for an increase in subsidy until the parent rights have been terminated fora full 2 years...and then only one of them would really qualify... So they wait six years to terminate rights which was only begun because they thought they had an adoptive family for them..(that failed) .and we come along and seriously would like to adopt them but can't afford to because of their unreasonable rates, due in part to the children not having TPR done earlier......I think foster mom gets bout $1700/mn for one and $1350/mn for the othe based upon their Level of Care (LOC) foster care rates on the state website.... So, now they have been in foster care for nearly 7 years and are forced to stay longer because of the rules combined with their high needs.
