adopting as disabled parents

Hi all - My husband and I are both disabled, though in different ways. We are both able to work outside the home, so we function quite well. Has anyone had any experience with both parents having a disability or medical condition? We are not looking to adopt an infant, instead a child between ages 3 and 8. just looking for any advice. thanks
