Does anyone have any experience with a contested step parent adoption in Florida? My husband and I have filed and just found out that bio-dad has retained a lawyer (well his mom did, because he is in jail). I am not sure how to feel about this. My son hasn't had any contact with him since February 2018 (bio showed up to a baseball practice and my so had no idea who he was). Also, bio has not contributed financially to him since we split in April of 2017. My attorney isn't worried about him having an attorney, but I can't help but worry.
