The child will be born in Kentucky and we want to obviously bring the baby back to Georgian afterward. We are all aware that the mother in Kentucky has 72 hours to change her mind, but that should not be an issue. Both parties are committed to the adoption and completely consenting to going through with this.
It is my understanding that Georgia is much more lenient in this situation when dealing with the Interstate Compact on Placement of Children. I am now under the impression that Kentucky law might prevent my wife and from bringing this child home after 72 hours period and after the mother signs over consent. Any correspondence on this issue at all would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
