I am looking for my half-sister born 5/09/70, but I understand that many case workers altered birth certificates back then.
My sister was born in Troy, NY; was taken to a foster home in Saratoga County in upstate NY; and we cant find her after that.
Do you know if you have a brother? Was your birthname Sharron?

Dear Mary Jane:
I believe that you may be my grandmother. I was born on July 30, 1970 in the tri-city area of Troy Albany Schenectedy. I would truly love to meet you, or to have contact with any member of my biological family. I have been looking for a clue for over 16 years, and your post is the very first one. I had a wonderful biological family -- Cheryl and Charles Schermerhorn. Was raised in the country in the Troy, New York area. Went to Tamarac High School (1988 graduate), then Rochester University (1992 graduate), workedin Moscow, Russia from 1992-1993, and continued on to Georgetown Law in Wash., DC (1993 - 1996). I am a practicing attorney in Virginia. Live in South RIding, VA with my wonderful family and 4 children - Connor, Anthony, Ilianna and Nicholas. My husband and I also have a Tae Kwon Do school in South Riding, VA called "Chun Tae Kwon Do." You may call me or contact me anytime -- it would be a dream come true. Telephone mumber at my Law Offices: 703 817 0501 and 703 817 0502. At the Tae Kwon Do school, the number is 703 327 0777 (ask for Sam, my husband, since I am usually at my law practice down the road during the day). My cell is 703 401-8766. My home number is 703 327 9824. I understand my biological mom was very young (about 18?) when she had me, and I greatly appreciate her decision to give me up. I have been blessed with a very loving adoptive family. I do regret that the adoption had to be a closed one, and that New York is in the DARK AGES Of adoption law after so many years. It is like a hole blown in my heart that I have been denied the opportunity to speak with my biological relatives, to let them look upon the faces of my children, or to hear their life stories. I also had to learn the HARD way that I have ADD, endometriosos, and have had other health issues as well that I prefer not to discuss in a public forum. Hate not having family medical history. It would be one of life's greatest and most magical moments if I could speak to any member of my bioliogical family, and get answers to so questions that have been with me for so long. God bless you and protect you. May you call me one day. With undying hope -- Cara Lynn Romanzo in South Riding, Virginia (South Riding is in Chantilly, which is within Loudoun COunty)

As a volunteer in Northern NY I have found way too many deceased b.moms so I'm just saying, if you are putting off a search until your a.pars are gone, you may find your original mom is gone as well.:wings:
Also I want to put in a plug for the Dan Rather Report, "Adopted or Abducted" and for the Jean Strauss documentary, "For the Life of Me."
These films might do some good if the  leaders in Albany, NY could view them!!!
