I am looking to adopt a child soon and I need some advise. I bielive that open adoption is best because the birth family/mom has a chance to get to know where her baby is being placed. If cirrcumstances come about that I was in her shoes i would want to know my baby was safe. Since all the stories you hear nowadays. The only problem I have is... Does the mother have contact after the adoption is finalized?? I would be able to handle that, its like the baby is still hers...

I meant i would not be able to handle the contact issue..... what if years later she wants the child back.. I have seen it happen on TV movies.. I just worry about all that.

diffrent states have limits on how long a birth mother can reclaim her baby. There is always that chance that a birth mother will change her mind but that is her right and it can happen in a closed adoption too. The ammount of openess is something that you and the birth mother agree on.

I never felt that the baby was mine..so you should feel that either.
