Professor Simon is interested in writing a new book, one consisting of extensive interviews with adult transracial adoptees and reflections on their thoughts, beliefs, feelings, and experiences. We are currently looking for additional participants who are interested in being interviewed. In this prospective book, she would like to interview transracial adoptees from many ethnic/racial backgrounds, or those whose parents belong to a different minority group. Due to the wonderful response weve received from Asian American adoptees with Caucasian parents, weҒre only seeking Asians who have been adopted by non-Asian/Caucasian parents, African Americans who have been adopted by non-African American/Caucasian parents, Caucasians who have been adopted by non-Caucasian parents, or Latinos/Hispanics adopted by African American/Asian parents. If you are 18 or older, self-identify as a transracial adoptee, and would like to participate in this study, you may do so without revealing identifying information. Nothing you share with us will be published without your written consent. Interviews will be conducted by myself or by Professor Simon and can take place over the phone or in person. Professor Simon or I may ask questions about your family, your relationship with your siblings, your interests, how you perceive your racial identity, relationships with friends and significant others, thoughts on transracial adoption, your views on various social or racial issues, etc. If you or someone you know would like to participate or have any questions, please feel free to contact me. You may email me at tra_research@yahoo.com or call 202-432-7046 and leave a message with your name and phone number.Heather Heitfield------------------------------------------------------- ----(Rita Simon is a Sociologist who earned her doctorate at the University of Chicago in 1957.
