I am a female adoptee born 2-16-1970 at Iowa Methodist Hospital in Des Moines, IA. I was adopted through Lutheran Social Services and placed when I was 10 days old. I am searching for any member of my birth family.

My Mom gave birth to a girl 11/8/1970 at Iowa methodist. I am having no luck. It was a sealed adoption and don't know if birth records are changed or what. I am really trying anything at this point.

I'm sorry you are having no luck. I haven't had much either. Have you tried filling out the consent-to-contact form from Lutheran Social Services? It's at least a start. They verified that my birth date is correct, although they were not allowed to verify that the hospital listed on my birth certificate is correct. I wish you the best.
