My husband and I are adopting from Kazakhstan. We are having problems raising the cash. We had intended to use some credit cards but no one accepts them. Anyway, we have excellent credit but don't own anything. 6 months ago we sold our home to move to another state so that my husband could finish his last year of Medical Training. My husband is an MD and has a lucrative contract beginning July 1, 2003! Obviously we could wait but we don't want to. We have our heart set on an adorable boy. Help, Please.

Have you tried using checks from your credit card company? I think it is more expensive to use the checks, but you might find you have more success with these. It might help you get the process started. Good luck!

I know we are all looking for help with financing the upfront costs of this journey we are on....I been thinking, searching, praying... and yesterday I made a chain of phone calls that may help.
Check out APFUSA.com. I got the telephone number for the company from Adoption Network Law Center and the gentleman was very nice when I called. They have this new website to work with. They originally started out with helping people find banks that would give unsecured loans for medical expenses, and now they help people find banks that will work with legal fees, adoptions...etc. I filled out the application yesterday...I have not heard back from them....I don't yet know which banks they work with or how credible it is...but until now ....all I could find was MBNA bank... I don't want another revolving loan. I just want help until the adoption is final and we can start paying it off with the tax credit and our military reimbursment.
I will keep searching....and post any other findings. Good luck with everything.
