About Mothers Day

that is a good question! I wonder how many birthmothers get a card from their bchild's adoptive parents or their bchild...depending on his/her age?

Last year my the first Mother's Day since my son was born. I sent his birthmother a gift ( a cherished wish bracelet) and a card to let her know I was thinking of her. I also received a card from her, and it really meant a lot to me.

I've sent my son's birthmother Mother's Day cards, but she has never acknowledged them, nor sent me one, or any Mother's Day greeting. I decided to end the practice last year.

As an adoptive parent who adopted children from foster care I do not receive Mother's Day cards from my children's birthmom. I really wouldn't want that or expect that from her considering the situation. On the other hand, it wouldn't catch me completely by surprise to hear from her mother (my children's grandmother) for Mother's Day since we are trying very hard to keep her involved in our children's lives. blessings,
