I love this. I often use it as a response to people who say they don't know how they could love an adopted child as their own. You can love your spouse, why not a child?

I have never seen it put that way before in writing, but that is exactly how I described it to my husband when we began talking about adoption! It really helped to open his eyes to the possibilities of adopting our (future ) child.
