Ovulation Calendar
Using An Ovulation Calendar
Many women who may be experiencing problems with getting pregnant may turn to the use of an ovulation calendar to help them out. While some women seem to be able get pregnant very easily, others may have quite a hard time for a number of different reasons. When this occurs, mapping out your ovulation process on a calendar can actually help you quite a bit to achieve the pregnancy that you so desire.
When ovulation occurs, one of the female ovaries produces an egg and then releases it. Ovulation is basically the time during the menstrual cycle of a woman when she may become pregnant. Since this part of the cycle only happens once per month, the woman only has a short amount of time where she can get pregnant. This is where an ovulation calendar can come in pretty handy for couples wishing to have a child.
To start off, it may be a good idea to get a brand new calendar that can be dedicated solely to mapping the ovulation part of the menstrual cycle. If you tend to have a fairly regular or average 28 day cycle, then this method of using an ovulation calendar should work very well for you. What you do is count forward 14 days from the very first day of the last period you had. If you have a 29 day cycle, then you count 15 days forward and so on.
Many women also find a bit of comfort while using the ovulation calendar. It tends to give them a sense of control and faith that they are counting down the days for their miracle to happen. Some find it a bit fun to be able to schedule their tries for a baby around the ovulation calendar. Once your egg has been released, you only have a window of two days where it can be fertilized, so when the ovulation calendar tells you that it is time you had better make the most of it!
