Veronica Black and her son decided together they wanted to add to their family.  Her son wanted a brother – one his age, who could also be his friend.  And what came from that wish is an entire family.  Veronica as the mother of  4 sons.

Veronica says of this video:  “I have watched this video several times and it’s still hard to fight back the tears. Todd, you did an amazing job, not only with the video, but with my boys. I only hope it will inspire others to change a life forever. If so, remember the children are NOT in foster care because of something that they did, but because of what we have done to them as adults/parents. What makes a successful placement is honesty . . . Knowing your own strength- what you can or cannot handle. Thank you for capturing one of the most important days of my life.”

There are currently nearly 400,000 children in foster care in the United States.  Over 100,000 of those children are adoptable and desperately hope for a forever family.  But statistics tell us that 32% of those children will have to be in the system for three or more years before being adopted.

We all need to remember what Veronica said:  “… the children are NOT in foster care because of something that they did, but because of what we have done to them as adults/parents.”
