I'm just starting the road and have decided on the international route and have picked three countries where i'm interested..
vietnam, india and guatemala. But, i'm having trouble picking the agency..how do you decide, other then they do the country your interested in? Is there a way to find out if they are single friendly?
thanks so much
Nowadays, almost all agencies accept single women, especially for international adoption. Of course, some countries do not accept singles; as an example, Korea does not allow singles to adopt children, except in the case of children with major special needs.

When I was deciding on an agency, I found it helpful to talk to other singles who'd used area agencies. I went to a couple of meetings of single adoptive parents, and found out about what agencies they'd worked with. It was a great help, because even though most agencies work with singles, when I went to open houses at the agencies, there were definitely some who assumed everyone was part of a couple. Good luck!!
