Hi there
I'm new here, just found this forum this morning. My name is Tam and I'm a new adopted mom of a 3 yr old little boy. He came to us in June of this year, and lets just say.....I'm exhausted.
I'm 31yrs old, and am at home on parental leave until mid October, then my husband takes over the daytime parenting job!
I'm feeling extremely overwhelmed at the moment, so I'm hoping I can at least find someone to chat with.
Take care all
Tam :)

Dear Tam,
Congrats!!! My husband and I have just started the adoption process. We're currently looking for an agency or a social worker to do our homestudy. How is motherhood, besides tiring? Is it everything you expected? Forgive me for the questions, but since I'm not a mother yet, I always ask these questions.
God Bless you and your family,
Yash

Hi Yash
Thanks for your reply! Motherhood is wonderful, scary, frustrating, and a million other things rolled into one!
However, it's also the best feeling in the world when a child looks up at you with those big innocent eyes and says wuv you mom.
It's been a very long road....4 yrs from the time we applied to adopt until our son was placed with us, but well worth the wait.
I wish you luck in your search for your child.
Tam:)
Welcome Tam!
We are a family that has adopted many times.....and we are now 'older' too (though, older than you.....we're both 45!). In July we just finalized the adoption of an infant through an attorney/agency. It has been wonderful....and I must say, after having adopted infants and older children........the infants are easier.
Hang in there............
Sincerely,
Linny
Welcome Tam to our forum! I am an adult adoptee and also mom of 3 sons! I can truly relate to you for I had many days when my boys were young (2 are teens now and one turned 20 this summer!) How wonderful that God has blessed you with a precious son. And boys sure can have energy- and I remember them having more than me many days! I found that not isolating myself was a great help- I joined some local bible studies, playgroups and found other mothers at home to share with.(also trade babysitting with) The local park district also had some great toddler activities as my sons grew- so they enjoyed these and it gave me a break in my day-as did preschool and a local Moms Day Out Program. This did not change the circumstances or work load but the added support and fellowship with other women- who were walking the path of a stay-at-home mom was invaluable to me. Many days, because of the fellowship, encouragement of other moms- I could sing and have victory even on the hardest days. Praying that will be true for you! May you be blessed with God's strength and wisdom today - for when We are weak -humble and dependent on Jesus- then we are strong. And He works best in weak and humble persons like me- I found!
