I have spent hours on the phone calling Mississippi. I wasn't born there but I was adopted there. The state I was born in has no information so I assume Mississippi does. Every time I call they are stumped and refer me back to the Jackson number. They lady there said they only keep information on babies that were custody of the state. Every time I bring up non-identifying stuff they are stumped and don't know what I am talking about. I have no information on my self and can't seem to get any. Can anyone help me?

Were you adopted through the Department of Human Services? If so then yes they should have your non-identifying information there. However, if you were not adopted through DHS, then is it possible that it was through another agency, if so they have that information. Let me just say this, good luck if you were adopted through DHS, because they seem to have difficulty helping anyone who was adopted through them. Good luck and I hope this helps.
