Just wanted to get an idea of who you all are out there in Maryland. I got the idea from another part of the forums...
I am Beth. My husband, Rich and I live in Rockville. We have 3 children. James (6), Kate (3)--both bio. children and Alexander (21mths) adopted Jan 20, 2004 from St. Petersburg, Russia.
Looking forward to meeting you all.

Hi All
I from Frederick MD. We are in process of adopting our 5 year old son. He has been in our home for 18 months. I'd love to get together with fellow adoptive families.
Best wishes,
Christy
The question is when? Daytime, weekday, weekend? I am a stay at home mom, so I am flexable. I also have Tues and Thurs mornings with just Alexander while the older 2 are in school. Mornings are generally better for the kids anyway ;) Let me know your prefferances and we'll set it up! I look forward to it.

I would need to meet in the afternoon/evening or weekend...
I am looking forward to meeting.

Just an update all--
I have been also co-ordinating a group on the Russia lists...It's a group that's not just in MD but all around the DC area. We've tossed out Friday May 14th to meet somewhere in Alexandria area. I realize that's a hike for many...but if you can/are interrested log on to the Russia thread and comment. :) I look forward to meeting as many of you as possible...even if not this time, at separate times/places.

Just thought with summer here, schedules may have changed or be more flexible. I was hoping to meet with some of you, and it never happened. It is hard with so many schedules...But if we pick a Sat. out far enough and plan some kind of pot luck, it could be great. I have most Sat. available...there are only 2 exceptions. So let me know! ( I will also try for some of the others on the Russia forums)

Hi!
My husband and I live in Rockville, MD. We have been married for 4 years, and after 3 years of dealing with infertility, we have decided to adopt a child. We just started the process, and it has been quite an adventure thus far. We will start pre-adoption classes in September, with our Home Study following. Once everything (and I mean EVERYTHING) is completed, the waiting period is
anywhere from 1 month-3 years. We are very excited...and can't wait for our blessing to join our family. Please keep us in your prayers!
I would love to meet up with you all...if you are planning a meeting or get together. I have lots of questions!
Thanks,
Tracy
... and have a wonderful daughter from China. She was 18.5 months old when I adopted her, and I was "only" 51. She is now 8 years old, and I am 58. We are having a grand time.
I would be delighted to talk with anyone who has questions either about the adoption process or about raising a Chinese daughter.

I live in Frederick County and I just returned home about 1 1/2 weeks ago with my 7-yr-old son from Russia. He joins his big, 19-yr-old bio brother.

It's nice to meet fellow Marylanders....
My husband and I live in Southern PG County and have four biological boys. We are in the process of adopting a baby girl and have just completed our homestudy and are simply "hanging out" waiting for our little one to join us as well. Those of you have adopted have given the rest of us hope.
Nice meeting everyone!
