Can we homeschool our adoptive children----or is it expected that they go to regular public school?
We already homeschool our son and we love it!!
Are there any regulations or laws in the adoption requirements?
thanks
Adopted children are legally the same as bio children and can be homeschooled. If you adopt an older child, they are sometimes required to attend school during the preadoptive period, but often if other children are homeschooled in the home, that can be waved.
As far as I know it's fine. Of course we are adopting internationally a child that is not school age yet. But most of my friends who have adopted older kids have homeschooled from the get go.
