I was born on August 26, 1954 in Bremen, Germany and my birth mother's name was Regina Elfriede Bnder and her birth date is September 21, 1937. Her address at that time was No.15 Vahrer Strasse in Bremen. Last known town was Dsseldorf. The adoption Department of the Youth Office in Bremen handled this adoption under file reference EM.54/5.13. My birth name was Gudrun Ingeborg Ursala B伤nder, later changed to Pam and was adopted by an American Air Force family with the name of Slayter from Louisiana. I would really like to find birth mother or family. I have an aunt younger than myself whose name is Cornelia Busch (born Feb 1955) and my grandmother's name is Fran Busch. I think I might have two uncles or male relatives in Efurt, Germany. Father unknown. If anyone has any information on the wherabouts of any of these family members please contact me.

Ingrid12,
Gosh was I excited when I received your mail today! There is a lot of similarities. I have forwarded this info to my adopted Dad because he met with my birth mom when I was 5 years old. I'm going to see if he recognizes this woman's last name. He said when he met my birthmom that she had married but couldn't remember her married name. Maybe just maybe this might take me somewhere. I have not found my birth mom as of yet and no I haven't been to Germany yet. I left there when I was very young, maybe 2 yrs old and I'll be 50 in August! So how was your reunion? Was a good experience? I want to go so bad, but with all the terrible things going on around the world these days, I'm almost afraid to go. Please keep in touch, my e-mail address is pnut4044@aol.com. I will let you know what my adopted dad says about the name. Thank you for the info.

hi gudrun
thanks for fowarding this info on to yur adoptive father....i found my birth mother almost 25 years ago! it was not hard to find with the adoption papers from germany and the information they provide. there should be a number on the relinquishment papers, that is the number that a person has to use to register in each place they move to. i wrote the city and the registery with the number and they were most helpful in finding her! i wrote her and included copies of all my papers pluus some fotos of me as a child...she wrote back about 3 months later. unfortunantly she did not want to have contact....funny as germans are, they are very private and anything like this would be a horrible thing. i was born a year after you and that would be 10 years after thewar....many horrible things happened then...and babies were abundant. my mother was in a refugee camp.....where she met my father.....so she tells me....and that is part of the reason why she probably does not want to have contact. i have written several other times and one of those times she sent a foto of herself and some medical background...nothing else....about a year ago i looked in the german phone book and noticed that she was listed and not her husband...which tells me that he had probably died...thinking that she would want to have contact i wrote and she did write back, kept the fotos i sent, but still didn't want to write. that is ok...i understand her situation.....a bad one i am sure....i think that one day we will meet.
i have not been to germany eighter.....would love to go. there is so much involved with being a foriegn adoptee....there is the whole thing of a ethic background and totally different culture!
i was 6 years old when i was adopted and lived in an orphanage in stuttgart for those years....have come to find out that the orphanage is there but is run by other people now.
my mothers maiden name was schuldes...elfrieda maria schuldes. her sisters name is anna maria schuldes. my name at birth was ingrid anni schuldes and was changed to heidi when i came to the us. i have always hated the name heidi........so i changed it to aneesah when i was 30........now i am thinking of changing it back to my birth name.....i love ingrid, so very me and so very german!
i would love to know if there are any other siblings....i am sure that it would be differnet if they knew that i was here....but i think that they do not.
thanks for writing back and i wish you all the luck inthe world in finding your birth mom....sounds like you father is supportive.
look on your papers if you have them and see if there is a registery number on them.....i could send you some addresses that i have that were very helpful to me.
the search process in the us is not very good with foriegn adoptions....i did it all on my own.....if you want the addresses let me know and i could send them to your e-mail.
good luck!
Ingrid,
Yes, my a/Dad is very supportive in this search. My a/mom, well..............I love her but she and I have had many many problems through all these years and I wish I knew why. The only thing I can possibly think is that either my a/dad is my real dad or the fact that when I was 5/6 yrs old and my a/dad was stationed in Turkey , he went to Germany and found my b/mom and he spent two weeks with she and her family during the Christmas holidays. No romance but wanted facts so that when I began asking questions he could give me some answers. They kept in touch for a couple of years after that, she would write to my a/dad in San Antonio, TX where he was stationed at the time but then starting asking for money and my a/dad decided he'd better nip it in the bud. I came right out and asked him if he was my b/dad and he said no but I still have my doubts. I guess my a/mom is jealous of the relationship my a/dad and I have but she has always been so hateful towards me and downed me for everything. Talk about having a complex! I was adopted when I was 8 weeks old and I have all my papers but don't know what number it is that you are referring to. I would definitely like the addresses that you have to help me in my search. I have been looking since 89 and just keep on running into brick walls. What would the relinquishment papers say in German, all my paperwork is in German and I can't read a thing! Do you know the language? I'm sure you do since you were there until you were 7, you were talking by then. Duh! I'd appreciate any help you can give me. Maybe one day we could meet and go to Germany together! Wouldn't that be great and exciting? I'm still in Louisiana, where are you located? Well please keep in touch, I could go on and on about my story. Thanks for replying and my a/dad got back to me and said that last name wasn't familiar, she had married someone from Poland so her last name was a Polish one. Wish there had been some kind of connection.

WOW!
that is interesting that you may think that your father is your birth father.....is there similaries? why would he not tell you?
my father and i were closer as well....my mom and i are not close at all, never was.....my afather died about 15 years ago and well...the rest is too much!
i lived n an orphanage for 5 years and that was interesting to try to find that....but did....and i did meet someone that during the war, they brought food and clothing to the children....a little before my time....but blew me out of the water!!!!!!!
i have some addresses for you but i have to look up one other thing....and it is at my office in the files.....
but i thought you would be intesested in this....the german embassey site....i have been looking into getting dual citizenship and found all of this.....
http://www.germany-info.org/relaunch/culture/ger_americans/ancestors.html
check out the site, it is intersting!
the one paper that you would look at is the relinquishment paper from your bmother....and it would say "ausfertigung fur fraulein...."
the personal identification number of your mother should be there....it would be under "Personalausweiss by:........."
my mothers starts with a "v. ##.##.##." three sets of two numbers separated by periods....beginning with a "v"....
we are close in age, so it may be similar.....
however my mother was a refugee from czechoslovikia/father was from latvia!! so may be a little different. someone once told me that they kept tabs more closely....especially during the war and the years after....but i was born 10 years later.....some say that doesn't matter....the americans were still there and lots of rebuilding was taking place.......i guess that answers the german woman having children with americans!!!!!!!!!!!!
i am getting other info together for you.....but the website is helpful.....
you have to find the registrar's offices in the cities that you are looking and give them the number.....
i sent the number to the office in the city of which i was born....then they sent me a letter with her address....but said that she wasn't there anymore and gave me the other address to where she moved....the registar's address...i wrote there and this went on for about 4 letters....4 cities....of which germans have to register in each town they move to.....so i ended with her current address....looked her phone number up in the german white pages.....and verified it!!!!!!!!!!
seems easy....there is alot of writing and i was in constant communication with the german embassey here in the us and in germany! they were not helpful....but they tried!
i will write to your email address the rest of the information....
good luck to you and i hope that you can find something.
ok....
by the way i live in michigan.....i moved here about 9 years ago from california.....interesting to say the least!

Hey sorry to everyone that replied. I had lost this website when my computer crashed and just now found it again. Thank you for all the helpful info and I will check it all out!
I did have a lady call me from Germany early in the morning of June 22, 2007 and told me she thought she had located my birth mom on a website from a class reunion and I do believe this is her, we look just alike. Wish me luck on finding her! Thanks again to all replies.
