This is a song by Erin O'Donnell. I love to sing it to my little ones.
You're a little piece of heaven
You're a golden ray of light
And I wish I could protect you
From all the worries of this life
But if there's one thing I can tell you
It's no matter what you do
Hold to Jesus, he's holding tight to you
This world will try to tell you
That might means more than right
That beauty's on the outside
And being good's a losing fight
But remember what I've taught you
Because the world will make you choose
Hold to Jesus, he's holding on to you
Hold on to Jesus and cling to his love
Rest deep in his goodness
Whenever things get rough
Don't loose sight of his mercy
And don't ever doubt this truth
That when you hold on to Jesus
He's holding on to you
Hear me dear Jesus
Rock this little one to sleep
Keep her close when she is scared
And give her grace when she is weak
I know she'll stumble
But I know she'll make it through
If you hold her Jesus just like you said you'd do
Hold her Jesus, hold her tight to you
I was at a MOPS convention a couple of years back and Erin was there singing this song and sharing her testimony. The neat thing about the song is that it was written on an airplane by Erin's husband when he had left on a trip after their daughter was born. It really is a beautiful song.
