Adopted in 1949 in Baltimore (Texas birth)

09-24-1949 Houston, TX Adopted Relative In Search Friend of adoptee assisting in search for birth mother DIANE MARIE FRANCIS aka DIANE HORTON aka DIANE KAPHAN of Housto, TX. Adoptee was brought to Baltimore, Maryland and turned over to authorities then placed for adoption. Person turning her over to authorities was a male from Houston TX, was in the Merchant Marines. He stated that birth mother abandoned child in his custody while they were in MD.and that he was not the childs father but had known the child since 6 weeks old. Statement may/may not be true. Records in Baltimore state that birth mother was last known to be in NY City (after this time). Also not known to be true or false -but questionable. Birth father was Eli Kaphan aka Jimmy Bush of Houston, TX. He was a Merchant Marine ALSO (!)and now deceased. Adoptee was almost one year old when turned over to authorities in Baltimore, Md. Birth mother was 25 yrs old at that time in 1950, therefore her year of birth believed to be 1925. She probably was married to Eli Kaphan (aka Jimmy Bush). No trace of birth mother can be found. She is believed to be related to an Isabella B. Horton (who was originally from Louisiana but moved to Houston, TX. Isabella was the daughter of Mary Baldwin).
