Hi..I was born 1.12.1960 at the Sacret Heart hospital in Spokane Wa..I've never tried this before so I thought to myself "what the hell see if I can get a bite"..I've known for the last 30 yrs.that I was adopted.Call me a procrastinateor but I've never seriously sat down and try to find out who they are..It bothers me from time to time..I have two beautiful teenage daughters than can be a pain in the butt:).But they have asked me what nationality runs thru there vains.I just geuss cause I don't know myself..If I remember rite, My parents told me that I was sorta a blackmarket baby..Apparently the doctor did some fancy footwork to get me to my parents. So I have no clue what is ahead of me as I start this search.I have no ill feeling what so ever towards my birthparents..From what I know, they did the best thing they could have for me at that time..I was raised by wonderful loving parents except in my teenage years:)They had to love me for what I put them thru..They are deceased now and I wouldn't trade anything in the world for what they taught me.But the curiosity is still there and I would like to know who are my birth family and who am I.I hit a snag on my first time out.Finding out about closed records..Personally I don't think the state should have that much control on this issue in this time and age.Any help would be much appreciated..Thanx...Bill

Her is something that may help, since I am dealing with the State of Washington as well.Found the family!First the non ID information was requestted from the Cathlic Society and the court where the adoption took place. Recieved a first name and a birthday for the **. It was very limited yet it was something. I have read that ALL Chatholic Soceity babies are baptized before going into foster or adoptive homes. I also read sometimes the bithdays can be changed. So my first stop was in the town of birth. Went through the achives for newspapers. I found information which lead me to believe the birthdate was correct. I asked around and was able to find out the nurse who was the ob nurse at that time was in assisted living. I went there and spoke with her. the lady just smiled and said she could not be of any help. When I questioned her about the baptizim, she said yes the baby was taken from the hospital and batized at the church. Now the Chathlics have a genology place where all the batizims records are kept. This will uasually be one place per a state. It may take a while but it is worth looking. Look for the whole month not just one day. DO NOT tell them why you are looking or they will not let you look. By going to towns around the place of birth Taking to the coffe crowds, looking at anuals and just trying to find general area information out, i was able to narrow down the search. I went through and made a list of all the girls with the first name of Sharon over a two year span. It was amazing how many girls had the same first name. Looking at the annuals this picture jumped out. It had to be her! Found out where the principal from that year was at. He is still living. He was a wealth of help with out his even knowing it. I found out the person in the picture had two sisters, 4 half brothers and the step Dad was the biology teacher. It fits the desciption of the family I am looking for! Oh could it be her? I went to the geneology center and ran the name through the birth index. NEVER EVER tell them why you are looking or they will shut you down. The record showed the sister and there birthdays. Sharons match the person I am looking for. The sister BD are in the correct range. Found a phone number for a possible half brother. The principle knew there first and last names. Called the man. He had no clue there was even a child give up! But, I have the right family. Everything fits!. One problem....no one has had contact with Sharon for a least two years. Last they knew she was in Canada. The brother gave the phone numbers for the two full sisters and said to try them. First one was in shock. She said this can not be. The child who was given up had already found them. There could not be two. She was very vague. Two!!!! Is there a twin? Who is she? Whats she like?Call number two was to the other sister. She was very helpful and forth coming. She had name of the other girl. A sister! Could she be a full? She had the other girls married name even. WOW! Now the search widens. Determination is setting in. Today is a day to cry. I found out there was more then one baby give up for adoption. Both have birth days in Sept. Time to find her.I took the name given to me and began to run a 411. I found many who could it be? I started to just call every number and find her. Oh My!I found her!!! Her name is Elizabeth. She was born 1 year almost to the day the year before. All her information on the father match what I have! She says I have no idea what this means to her. I want to see her. We are sending pictures via email. She was able to contact Sharon. She was suppose to meet her and hasn't. She wants to meet. Chit Chat took place for over 2 hours. now what? She says the phone number she has is no longer in service. How will I find Sharon? Sharon where are you? Do you want to meet your daughter? I want to meet you......Amy

Hi! I was adopted from spokane, sacred heart hospital, and found out that my birth mother had a boy several years after me, that also went up for adoption. I was told he was adopted by a spokane police detective and his wife. Just thought I might put this out to you to see if anything sounds familiar. Good luck. Connie
