do you have any more information? Did you get your non-id info. from allegany county surrogates court? they have a form to fill out and in a couple weeks you have it. It says how old your mother was, how much you weighed, how many weeks to term you were born at. I am an adoptee, born in Wellsville at JMH, I have found my bmom and I am looking for the other three siblings that she gave up besides me! If you have your non-id info, how old was the bmom? Please let me know. We might be sisters!

I found my Real BMom in April of this year! :cheer: the nys adopiton information registry confirmed we are BMom and BDaughter! She did give up 2 others for adoption, she had a girl on February 6, 1962 at Jones Memorial Hospital, she was supposedly given to a friend of the Dr. that delivered her, he too was a Dr. rumor has it she went to Syracuse with the name Erica or Erika last name of Walsh? This is all the information I have abut her, other than she tried to contact BMom a few years ago but got ahold of BMom's aunt and she never got ahold of BMOm. But I know BMom wants to meet her! The boy she gave up was supposed to be born in Wellsville at JOnes Memorial, but she went into labor and was enroute to Wellsville but the baby was coming and she had him at HIghland Hospital in Rochester, NY. BMom is unsure of the date, but she has a picture of him when he was a month old and it says June 1966 on the back of it also it says James, BMom named him James after BFather. Baby Boy born sometime in May of 1966 and adopted thru monroe county social services. BFather want's nothing at all to do with any of us. BMom even kept one of us, she is my "whole" sister, we have the same BMom and BDad! So, I don't think you're my sister. But you can call the Allegany County Surrogates Court and request a form called the Petition to open adoption records, she'll send it to you and you just fill it out and send it in. The judge will review it and unless you are dying from a rare genetic disorder and have the medical proof to back it up, the information in you records won't be fully disclosed to you. you will get your non-id info, that's how you get it. Phone # for the Allegany County Surrogates Court is 585-268-5800 Carolyn Miller is the woman I talked to. I also registered with the nys adoption information registry you can download the form at this link: http://www.health.state.ny.us/vital_records/adoption.htm
and they too sent me my non-id info. The way the matched up my BMom to me was when I found her I had her register also, when she got her letter back saying she was registered, we sent a letter in requesting to know if we were BMom and BDaughter, they sent a letter back saying yes, good luck on a successful reunion! well we are getting to know eachother every day and it's great, just knowing who I really am and where I came from and having my medical history has been a huge, HUGE, weight lifted off my shoulders! and having a Grandma for my two kids age 6 and 3 is great too! My Adopted parents are deceased and I love that they have someone on my side of the family to call Grandma! It's amazing how much alike we all are!! from the clothes we wear to how we act and react and food we like and favorite colors and it's so amazing!! well Good Luck with your search. Rumor has it there were many babies just placed in homes from the Dr. that delivered them especially at Jones Memorial Hospital in Wellsville, NY!
Maggie--I lost track of this forum and I'm just now seeing your post from 2003!! Congratulations on finding your Bmom. And thank you SO much for giving me the information. I believe I am registered with the NY state registry, but I didn't have a non-id info. Thank you so much for that information. So many years have passed: I hope things are well with you! -Diane
