Ive already started thinking about how I want to decorate the spare bedroom...and we want to do children from 0-4 boy or girl. Im always so worried of not being accepted for whatever reason...or certified actually...I think Ive for plenty of good backround to be a foster parent and my hubby too...I guess I just worry about it so much becuz its something that I want to do so badly...anyways, let me quit babbling...I have so many questions for you ladies that live in Jacksonville...if you can PM Id appreciate it!! We are in CItrus Coutnty, We have 3 homestudies completed and approved. One for adoption Childrens home Sociaty, (worthless) One for fostering Kids Central and a 3rd from Adoption by Shepherds care. Private. ALso approved. We now have a beautiful DS Baby girl Olivia. adopted in Augest and 3 foster children beautiful girls ages 1, 4, and 6. This has been a great first experience in fostering.. RU will be within a month.. In this case it is a good thing, Parents have there act togather. I would love to talk to any more about alll of this. We hope to get 2 more children to adopt at some point. I don't mind the fostering, but adopting is what I started out to do.
I am in district 15 (Treasure Coast) and I applaud you in your accomplishiment. I always have a lot of pride when I have been a part of a family becoming 1 again. It doesn't always happen - but when it does - it's a wonderful thing. I am sure I join many in thanking you for taking these children in while they were in need and caring for them while the parents were "getting thier act together". I find the sense of accomplishment overpowers the grief of them leaving my home. Maybe that is why I am a better foster parent because of this way of looking at the situations. Adoption is a wonderful thing - but so many families just need that wake up call to become whole again. God Bless You.
