It happens and it's heart breaking! A match is made, BUT the e-mail address listed no longer works. They haven't left a name or any kind contact information behind. I see people on adoption.com asking, would the person looking for so and so please contact me. A sad situation indeed. E-mail addresses come and go! When posting your information be sure to 1. Make a decent subject line with all pertinent information! Everybody cant read every post, so narrow it down for them. Example ғFemale adoptee ISO Birth-family, New Orleans, 2/15/66 or ԓNew Orleans as opposed to ԓFemale ISO birth-mom 2. Keep your e-mail address! Or update all the places you have registered with your new e-mail address. If you have an alternate e-mail consider posting this. 3. Register with your state's adoption registry and state in your post that you are registered with the official state registry. Or with the International Soundex Reunion Registry and state that you are registered with the ISRR! 4. You might consider leaving behind your full name and state of residence, or your husband's name if it is listed in the phone book. Something to help them find you in the phone book. 5. At the end of your post, if the site allows, add a little list of keywords to help the search engines, like Google, find the posts you leave behind. This should include many formats of your birthday (people search for dates in many ways!). Example Keywords: Louisiana adoption, adoptions, New Orleans, VOA, adoptee, female, baby, girl, ISO,Birthdate: January, 21, 1971, 01/21/71, 1/21/71, 01/21/1971, 1/21/1971, Jan. 21, 1971 Beth www.protestanthomeforbabies.com
