Do you all do anything special with your kids to bring in the new year?
I haven't really thought about should there be a tradition but as the kids get older we have started to play games and make it a snack kind of night.
Our boys are 4 and 6. We stay home, make tons of yummy appetizers and drink punch.
We play games (my 6 year old LOVES Yahtzee, and my 4 year old loves to line up and knock down dominos) and play with some of their toys from Christmas.
When it's time to wind down for bed we watch a movie... Yesterday happened to be The Empire Strikes Back (the kiddies are all about Star Wars).
Usually we spend it by ourselves, but yesterday, our neighbor came by for a short while with her three kids (friends of our boys) so we had a nice visit.
We used to go up north to our cabin for every New Year, but havent done that in ages. I think we may start up that tradition again next year, but if not, you can be sure to find us at home....HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!!!

My kids went to bed, they didn't make it 'til midnight.
Yesterday we rode dirt bikes and 4 wheelers all over "The Farm" and today they are working on pine-wood derby cars. So, they are having fun, but not sure it's a real tradition!
We started a tradition about 3 years ago with some friends up the street from us. They have 2 boys and a dd similar ages to my 4.
First year we turned on the t.v. at 10 for the NY ball drop and went home shortly after. Now we stay up til Midnight and have the hats, noisemakers, etc. to celebrate with.
Play games, chat, eat, music...kids just run around playing so excited that they get to stay up so late.
Good times!:)
I was excited to get to see the ball drop this year as I am in the Eastern time zone for the time being. It was nice to see it drop at the right time. ;)
