I am hoping to adopt a BR/AA baby and have started the licensing process and complete FAKT with The Villages. They are aware of the fact that I want to adopt rather than foster, but I might be persuaded to do an legal risk adoption if the circumstances are right.
I did kinship care a while back with my 11 yr old nephew who was at risk of being placed in the custody of the state. He thrived in my home and went home to his parents for high school. That was the hardest thing that I ever had to do (sending him home) and it turned out it was the worst thing for him. This is something that I don't think I could bear again.
But I digress, please PM me with any feedback that you might have about The Villages.

http://forums.adoption.com/indiana-foster-adoption/ The above forum is a bit more active, I think most of us check that one fairly regularily. As far as the Villages specifically, as with any Theraputic Agency, the county generally only uses them when they themselves cannot find a home with regular county foster homes. Placements are very slow at this time, due to "Safe Families at Home" keeping children in the home or with relatives. Restrictions on drug use as well as certain Felony convictions have eased to make placing kids with family members easier. You are more likely to get special needs or harder to place children. If you are interested in older kids, you might get snap approved. Hopefully someone else will know more than I do for you, this is just what I have gathered over the years and could be inaccurate. Good Luck
