Just thought I'd do a check in to see how everyone's doing. Any updates on the adoption front?
Things are going well here. I've gone off the bc pill and hopefully we'll be pregnant soon. It's hard to believe that we're finally at that point in our lives where it's okay. :)
Adoption wise, need to schedule a visit with T and his family. I'm hoping his mom will come support me at our agency's Birthmother's Day event. I'm hoping she will, but I am not going to cross my fingers.
I just got a suprise Easter pic of A (it's on the myspace if you want to check it out  ) and I have a visit in a little less than two weeks.
Other than that I'm just throwing my well wishes towards everyone else right now!
(Oh, and Tara, sidenote, I made crescent rolls last night, not you're recipe, just the rolls and they are so good! So now I'm gonna try your recipe - probably thursday!)

Wow T, big step! And I know the feeling, I still feel weird congratulating my friends when they tell me they are pregnant, I feel like we are all too young, LOL!
Things are happening in my adoption right now. First of all, today is DD's birthday and she will get her first ever card from me!!! Now we don't know if she'll want it or take it, but if not her mom will keep it for her until she does. And she will be told that she doesn't have to respond if she isn't ready. Either way, she will know I remembered her birthday and that I think of her!
Also, her mom and I are trying to communicate better. There were a few misunderstandings in the last exchange that brought up some issues, but she wants to continue working them out. We even exchanged phone #'s (both home and cell!) so hopefully this means we can talk more openly and more often. We both have expressed love and respect for one another, so that in itself is a good foundation!
It's looking up right now!
Congratulations Tara!
I have a visit tomorrow. I haven't seen kiddo since July so I am pretty excited. I'm sure he'll be huge. I still get very little communication coming my way which is frustrating.
On the adopted person side of things, I haven't heard anything from my first brother who I wrote a letter to at the beginning of the month. Not that I am terribly surprised, just hurt that they can ignore me. Yes I know that probably isn't the case but it sure feels like that.
On a fun note, I got a new car last week. A sweet little 2002 Pontiac Sunfire. It is a five speed, sun roof.... OMG I feel so HOT driving it, lol. I LOVE my mom and dad who surprised me with it :)

All is well, I guess, No news is good news? Someone please tell me this is true...LOL
Ohhh Tara, I am throwing lots of baby dust your way!!! Keep us posted ((hugs))
Mommy - I say no news is good news as well. But that certainly doesn't make the waiting any harder. When did you last hear from bson?

Brown - I said to one of the ladies at work the other day that it is hard to make the switch in my head from taking every step to prevent a pregnancy to throwing all caution to the wind and hoping to get pregnant. It's hard to wrap my head about it.
I was disappointed to hear about the misunderstanding with bdaughter's amom, but it sounds like alot of good came from it. Do you know if bdaughter got your birthday card?
Congratulations Tara!

Belle - congratulations on your visit - I can't wait to hear all about it. I'm sorry there's a real lack of communication on the adoptive parent's part. Is that a long standing issue? Sucks anyways. I can empathize with you about not hearing from your brother. It does hurt. I hope you hear something soon. I'm so jealous of your new car!!
Thanks for the baby wishes everyone - we're not telling alot of people that we are trying, but I couldn't resist telling you all. We want it to be a big suprise when we tell them we're pregnant.
Tara will pass good thoughts your way.
I have had her birthday presents all set since Christmas. I had bought alot of things and most wounld not fit in the box so it will be sent shortly.
Belle: happy for you

Okay Tara, I'm trying to add you to the ol' myspace right (but I can't find you!!!) I'm looking though... :) (It's like impossible to find me because of all the stupid security controls that I set up...but we'll make it happen darn it!)
We are going to go to lunch and ride a merry go round and it's going to be a lot of fun ***she says as she wills it to happen*** I've now started stressing about what I'm going to wear of course, and I need to get the present I was making A ready.... It's happening!
Belle, congrats on your visit! How did it go?
((((Hugs)))) everyone!

TGM, my kiddo is great as always. I love that little guy more than I thought possible. I love his dad too. His mom of course left something to be desired. I wish my relationship with her was better. I try so darn hard to understand where she is coming from and I get advice from my mom all the time. I wish she would try to understand me.
Today I'm sitting in my empty house feeling lonely... gah I hate this part of it.

Oh, I know that part of it well...I just blogged about the high high of the visit in contrast with the low low afterward actually...it's why I've had such a hard time getting excited for my visit this next week...It's almost like I didn't see the visit I saw the fallout afterwards, you know?
I'm glad to hear the actual visit went well though. Did you take lots of pictures?
Oh, I never take as many pictures as I probably should. I took a few though. I got the pictures from our visit last summer. None of the pics my mom took turned out.
I can hardly wait until he is older and maybe they will let me have some time by myself with him. I can't take the yelling and stuff that she does at him. She yelled at him and he came to me crying. What could I do? I had to say your mom is right, I can't do anything about it. When all I wanted was to hold my baby and say I was sorry.
Oh my goodness, I can't even imagine what that must be like....at my first visit with my daughter she tried to eat a leaf and her Mom wasn't watching her do it (she was sitting right by her) and I was like, "Uh, she's eating a leaf" - I didn't want to take over a Mothering job or threaten the job her Mom was doing, but I also didn't want DD eating a dirty leaf from the park! And that was just a situation where DD's Mom wasn't actively doing anything that bothered me....I can only imagine....ugh. ((((hugs))))
I know what you mean about the pictures. I'm hoping that buying a new camera this week will force me to take more pictures this time...I hate having to rely on DD's Mom for her pics when I don't have to.

I really hate those after visits lows
(((BELLE)))
I think at my last visit I took so many pictures. then headed the camera over to Supergirl and she took some great shots.
TGM cannot wait to hear about the visit.
