The birth certificate NUMBER is NOT changed when the BC is modified with the new info. You can do a search by that BC number and find the original. You need to ask someone who has access to those records.... many are on microfische now. Search Angels [found via this site and others] can help as they often have access to that info.
If anyone needs help for California birth certs - I know of a person who HAS access to these records - just pm me - and I'll try and help you!!!!

Hello,
My name is Shea Carpenter, and I am writing because I found you/or your post on registry.

I would like to know more about your search to see if perhaps we can help on another. We are looking for people who are willing to share their story of search and potential reunion in an effort to guide and inspire others who are missing their relatives.
If you are interested in sharing your story, please call me at 424.214.4657 Ext. 157, or contact me via email at shea.carpenter@rrstaff.com to discuss your story.

Does this person have access to adoption information that goes back to 1939? My grown children would like some closure now that their father (who was adopted) has passed away. They have always wondered who their father's birth parents were.

Yeah but there is a snag. She only sees the samething I was able to find out which was her last name which I knew. I heard something about being on microfich or something like that. Where would that be located? Would it be I newspaper. There was only 2 hospitals I could have been born at Doctors hospital or Highland Hospital which is now called Alameda County Hospital.

Sorry to hear that Jan couldn't help you any further. I would suggest that you contact these two hospitals and see if they have any record of your birth, and maybe they can give more information from their records. I'm not too sure 'where' the microfische would be stored - sorry! Maybe someone else here can help you on that.
