Just (legally) downloaded Alanis' new album, Flavors of Entanglement (released today). And I must say, I'm overwhelmed with this song.Versions of Violence: Coercing or leaving Shutting down and punishing Running from rooms, defending Withholding, justifying These versions of violence Sometimes subtle sometimes clear And the ones that go unnoticed Still leave their Mark once disappeared Diagnosing, analyzing Unsolicited advice Explaning and controlling, Judging opining and meddling These versions of violence Sometimes subtle sometimes clear And the ones that go unnoticed Still leave their Mark once disappeared This labeling This pointing This sensitive’s unraveling This Sting I’ve been ignoring I feel it way down way down These versions of violence Sometimes subtle sometimes clear And the ones that go unnoticed Still leave their Mark once disappeared//I'm just speechless.

I haven't stopped listening to Alanis' new album since I got it. It's pretty sound both musically and lyrically. To be honest, I don't think this is a CD for those who are in REALLY bad places. It could be emotionally triggering, I suppose. For me, it's a bit freeing right now as it lets me find voice for my emotion.

Not so funny story about Ironic. The first week of college (omg, so long ago!), I was sitting at my computer, listening to WinAMP (HA!) and Ironic came on. My roomate says, "I don't like this song." I said, "I do! It's great." She waits a little bit... and says, "My Dad and Grandfather were killed in a plane crash."Ugh.

And today's lyrics!and as long as I'm livin' I'll be waitin' as long as I'm breathin' I'll be there whenever you call me I'll be waitin' whenever you need me I'll be there (Lenny Kravitz - I'll Be Waiting)...I wish I didn't resonate with those lyrics. I wish this hole in my heart didn't ache on top of BEING a hole. I wish so much. But still I sit. Waiting.
