It seems like every show on TV this fall has some sort of adoption twist.
Some are doing it really well, while others are doing an awful job of it.
Anyone notice?

YES. I have absolutely noticed. I blog and have been working on a post about this.....it's REALLY a lot going on right now.
On the one hand - awesome that adoption may become just a part of the story and not some Lifetime version of adoption ("birthmother breaks into home and steals back happy families baby" stay tuned for the movie at 9!)
Yes, some shows are doing okay, and others are setting us all back.....but it has certianly not gone unnoticed by me.

Ugh, I missed last weeks but that's got all kinds of adoption storylines!
I LIKED the way they've treated the Foster Son story - the Dad's talked openly about his feelings as Dad and how scared he would be if Dixon's bio dad came back out of nowhere, etc. It wasn't necessarily "pretty" but it seemed honest and genuine.
But THEN the Dad finds out that he fathered a son that was PLACED for adoption like 20 years before?
And then a scammer comes and tries to say he IS the adoptee??
And then a student becomes pregnant???
And then Brenda is having infertility issues????
It's getting ridiculous!!!!
I had to stop watching for a week or so to breathe. But I'm sure I'll be back.
Yes.One Tree Hill has had an adoption storyline since last year. Well, since the beginning of the show, really, since Peyton was adopted and she reunited with her first mom. However, we're now dealing with Peyton's unplanned pregnancy which has gone unexpectedly complicated! And she's determined to carry to term since her birth mom did. And then there's Brooke who is fostering a rebellious teen. Drama.

Ugh, I know I can't escape it. I stopped watching 90210, aside from the fact that I am hopelessly devoted to the original and didn't like how it was redone, the adoption issues felt jammed down my throat. Between the father and Dixon and then the pregnant teen, I was a little sick of it. Isn't there another sensational plot device to use to make things exciting? And I am big into Gossip Girl, but have not watched it since Lilly and Rufus's adoption storyline. Because it hit home SO HARD that I actually had a setback emotionally and contacted DD's birthfather to say hi. Ugh. I want to crawl in a hole just thinking about it.
ALL MY CHILDREN..ABC SOAPS, IS DOING AN ADOPTION STORY WITH AMANDA...NOT REALLY HAPPY WITH THE DIRECTION IT IS GOING IN, BUT TOO SOON TO SAY. ONE LIFE TO LIVE DID THE SAME. I was approched by a company,The gentleman in charge, Ed Ellington, wanted to assit me in locating my twins. I will not be doing that, and have not even replid to his e-mail. But I do not feel ANY of these shows, can give truth to these issues...because, one cannot give truth, without living that truth. Blessings to all...C.J.
