We too are looking for adoption agencies in TX. Would love to hear from any of you who've used TX agencies or info re: agencies you've found helpful
Yes, we found an agency called Adoption Access in Dallas. They approved our application and we are going to do he meet and greed with the director tomorrow. Send me a PM with your personal email address and I'll give you more info
By the way anybody out there has worked with Adoption Access of Dallas? I interviewed 2 adoptive parents and they said very positive things. Please let me know if anybody had a bad experience with them. Thanks
My husband and I have decided to start looking into adoption. Could anyone recommend a agency in Houston? I was looking at Caring Adoptions and was curious if anyone had any experience with them.

We would like to adopt domestic through the foster care system. Know of any agencies that deal with Texas and non-Texas children? Also, one that doesn't require you to be religious and active in a church? Thanks!
BTW.. we are in the East Texas Sticks... but willing to drive to Dallas whenever we need to!
Hi Zoey, I had concerns after the orientation and chose another agency, but I have not heard anything good or bad about them - did you make a decision yet? I would love to learn your experiences! M
We went to their 101 a couple of weekends ago. They seem nice ad caring, but I read a few mean reviews. They had 15 adoptions in 2010. I find that a bit discouraging.
Info on agencies would be great if i could get it also. I have one I am interested in, But would like to look or have opinions on others

Independent Adoptions just opened an office in Pearland and moving to Houston in Jan. They are very friendly. I will say that the lady i spoke to today gave me general info, which wasn't so general. It pertained to their agency only. Not sure if she wanted our business or just scare us. I did get discouraged, but now researching a new agency.
We have sent our application into Access Adoptions. They are located in Dallas and believe they have an office here in Houston too. The only problem is that they are closing their applications at the end of the year for adoptive families. As long as you get in your application and fee before the end of the year, you are fine. You can send the rest in after that. I feel good about our decision in choosing Access Adoptions.
Pro's: They don't match birthmothers until the 7th month, which means their disruption rate drops to 5%.
Pro's: If there is a disruption, you don't lose any money, as their fee includes the birthmother expenses.
Pro's: The birthmothers are in TX only.
Con's: Their fees are higher.
Hope that helps!
