Hello there,
If you are pleased with your adoption agency in Texas, will you please PM me with their name and any details you are comfortable sharing?
Thanks,
Amy

We would like to adopt domestic through the foster care system. Know of any agencies that deal with Texas and non-Texas children? Also, one that doesn't require you to be religious and active in a church? Thanks!
BTW.. we are in the East Texas Sticks... but willing to drive to Dallas whenever we need to!

Independent Adoptions just opened an office in Pearland and moving to Houston in Jan. They are very friendly. I will say that the lady i spoke to today gave me general info, which wasn't so general. It pertained to their agency only. Not sure if she wanted our business or just scare us. I did get discouraged, but now researching a new agency.
We have sent our application into Access Adoptions. They are located in Dallas and believe they have an office here in Houston too. The only problem is that they are closing their applications at the end of the year for adoptive families. As long as you get in your application and fee before the end of the year, you are fine. You can send the rest in after that. I feel good about our decision in choosing Access Adoptions.Pro's: They don't match birthmothers until the 7th month, which means their disruption rate drops to 5%.Pro's: If there is a disruption, you don't lose any money, as their fee includes the birthmother expenses.Pro's: The birthmothers are in TX only.Con's: Their fees are higher.Hope that helps!
