Hi all!
I am interested in adopting an older child from foster care. I was looking on adoption photolisting and left my information. Its been 2 weeks and still no call back from a social worker. How long is the wait before a social worker calls back or sends information for an orientation meeting? Thanks for any response

First, welcome to the forums.
Do you already have a completed homestudy? The orientation you ask about, it is to become licensed or ???
If you don't have a homestudy you may not get contacted. As a general rule most contact is done initially through the childs' caseworker and your adoption worker.
Good luck on your adoption journey.

A lot of the photolisting websites say that you must have a completed homestudy before inquiring. You could contact your local children's services office and speak with someone. Good luck!
If you're in one of the states highlighted in Purple on this map: Adoption Photolistings of Waiting Children in the US Then Adoption.com may have contact with social workers in your state.
If your state is purple, complete the Homestudy Form and someone from your state will contact you: Photolisting.Adoption.com: US Available Waiting Children, Kids, Photo Listings Foster Care American
If it's not purple - sadly, we don't have contacts in that state. The best course of action is to contact your local county office for children and families - they can help you get started.
Good luck!
