Yep, that's entirely the norm for the CBI. You'll have three listings if you're born after 1960: one by your birth mother's maiden name, one by your birth father's surname, and one with your adoptive parents' name. Sometimes there will even be four listings...this happens in the event that the birth mother was married at the time of delivery, but the child had a different father than her husband.
Actually these multiple listings in the CBI is what makes it so easy for search angels to track down birth parents in California. :cheer:

Thank you so much for your quick reply. It's interesting that I'm not listed there under my adoptive name. I was hoping that it was unusual to be listed under two different names. Apparently my birth mother used an assumed name and I was hoping that the 2nd name listed was the correct name. However, I believe that the 2nd name listed is the assumed name that my birth father gave. Back to the drawing board!

I am searching for my son in laws birth mother. He was born August 19,1975 in Contra costa County in california. Her name was Brenda Goss and she was about 16 when she had him. He was adopted by Jerry and Bonnie Sloan who lived nearby and they since have gotten divoced and remarried. I heard someplace that she lived in Livermore but nothing for certain. I contacted a Brenda Whittenbaugh in New Jersey who was Brenda Goss and lived in Lovermore but she is not the right one. Any information would be appreciated.
