Hi,
My husband and I are discussing our options for international adoption, and Columbia is on the top of our list. Everything we read says it takes about 3 years to adopt a healthy infant (0-2) for a couple under 38, which we are. Are there any couples currently adopting from Columbia that can attest to the timeline? Also, if you would be interested in PM'ing me the agency you are using, that would be fantastic. Thank you for any help!
I can't believe I kept spelling Colombia incorrectly in this posting. Please overlook this error! I really do know how to spell! :o

Hi!!!
Welcome to this ride! It is true that it takes a long time to adopt infants (up to 3 years old) in Colombia. I know there is an official link in the ICBF website to look at the wait list, but one of the members of this community keeps this blog with tons of information:
Colombian Culture, Colombia Adoption and Raising Colombian Kids: ICBF Wait List
Adopting from Casa Privadas could make the process a little bit quicker, but it is not 100% sure you will get the child sooner.
About our adoption agency, I blogged about it here
Good luck with this decision!
Thanks for the kind words and the advice! The more I read about adopting from Colombia, the more I like it. :) My husband and I have been talking about a small sibling group as well, since we both have siblings we are close to, and would love for our child to have that closeness as well.
Thanks Nancy! I will be following your blog, and starting my own too!
We are also adopting an infant 0-24 months and have been waiting 2 years. (ICBF) I am expecting to wait more than 3 years total. I am hopeful that it will be under 4 and trying to stay positive.:hippie:
