I was placed with my little 8 month old Tiger on July 22 and Im just thrilled, However mom or dad have not called or showed up to court regarding little Tiger, our case worker told us that so far the parents have not showed any intrests or that family member has showed up, he is one 9 sibling and from what I understand she has lost other children to the system, my ? is how long does it take before mom could lose her right, from my understaing she might be incarcerated at this time., I know its to early to gget my hopes up with this little guy, but its to late for that, Im in LOVE... :paci: :paci: :paci:

It is my belief that they can give a parent time to work a plan even if incarcerated. TPR time varies vastly case by case. If she is in jail right now they will more than likely give her the option to work a plan, and depending on your State that time varies as well. In my state the parent/s have six months to show efforts, and then depending on progress/or not can be giving another 6 months or have services revoked. Is Tiger new in to care?
In my case even though my STBAD's bio mom showed no interest, attended no hearings, worked no plan etc. it took 14 months for rights to be terminated.
I would say love him like no other(because he deserves it), and prepare to have patience. The journey can be quite lengthy.:) Good Luck.

are you fostering or fost/adopt? If fostering and they haven't terminated services to the parents yet you have a little ways to go....they review every 6 months since he's under 3y/o. If fost/adopt it would seem like he'd already have a TPR hearing date set already.....
So I would say it would depend on where the case was.....e.g. caseplan offered, services terminated....etc.
We are doing fost to adopt, so far we really do not know much about his family, just that she has had children in the system before, my foster care worker tells us we just might have hit the jackpot with this little guy since no one has showed any intrest not even a phone call for this little guy. BTW we are in California.
Okay I just got more information, Mom might have some mental disorder and several of her kids have been adopted out and emancipated, hiscase worker told me that these cases go fast because Judges do not want to waste anyones time, she also has an extensive history of drug use...I did not want to get my hopes up but its to late for that

Agree with the pp. Our guy was #8 and mom wasn't offered services. Actually, neither was fleas, but paternal gma got custody. If mom has lost other kids, its likely she will lose him, but the dad I would be more concerned about. Is he the dad of the previous kids?? A new dad?? If he is a new dad, even I'd he is denied services, his family could come forward. I hope it works out for you, just know it can change at any time...like our case.
Well a monkey wrench was thrown our way today, this is the fathers first child, however he just violated parole again for drugs, but paternal grandma and aunt now want custody, im losing hope very quickly if i havent already.. I don't know if I could keep doing this its very emotionally hard, I know that RU is the goal here, but in the very back of my mind I wanted and still want this little guy... : (
I am sorry. I know its hard. This is exactly what happened in our case...paternal gma got him. What irritated me most is it took her until he was 4 months old to finally get her act together and move to a suitable apartment and get approved. We were (I should say ARE) devastated. It's awful. I know just how you feel.
I do hope they get approved quicky or denied quickly so it won't drag on.
Hang in there.
