I went out today looking at furniture and decided to place an order for a couch and loveseat mady by England Furniture. The furniture looked nice, seemed sturdy, and the cushions were firm and the padding on the arms felt ample (unlike furniture I saw at Value City, which you could feel the wood right through the arms of the couch). Anyway, I was pleased with my purchase and then I got home and did an internet search on England and a found a number of review sites where people really complained about this brand. Said their furniture did not hold up well, the fabric was not good, the cushions wore out very quickly, etc., etc. and despite their very good warranty, had a hard time getting any problems resolved. There was just a lot of negative stuff online and I realize a lot of reviews you have to take with a grain of salt, but now I'm nervous that I made a bad purchase. It could also be buyers remorse, though, because I was also thinking about the end table and coffee table and the kitchen set I decided on, and now I'm not sure I really like them and if I should cancel my order and keep looking.
Obviously, for the price, I'm not going to get top of the line stuff. At the same time, I don't want the furniture to fall apart after just a few years. So, if anyone here has England couches, can you tell me your opinion? They also carried a brand that was a little bit higher priced called Flexsteel, and I wonder if I should have gone with that brand instead. Any thoughts?
I realize that for the price I paid, I'm not going to get top of the line stuff (couch and loveseat together were approx. $1,300). I would still like to have something of decent quality, though, that is not going to look worn in a few month's time and/or won't last more than a few years.
