Wow i just got done ready all you have to say and you have my excitement up to say the least! I'm searching for a good friend that would like to find her birth family and it turns out she was born in 1965 her mother stayed at the Chicago Foundlings Home and was born via c-section at the Illinois Research and Education Hospital. Her father knew nothing about her but worked for a bank and was 29 years old at the time of her birth. Her mother was a small lady that came over from England, she was a blonde haired thirty year old that worked at a bank. One would assume she had a cute English Accent and would be easy to remember due to having a C-section as they were not as common back then. Is there any information you can give us on this or help us with? Anything would be greatly appreciated.

My bet would be they may have it, but you couldn't get a copy because your weren't BORN in IL. You can request non identifying from the Lake County adoption agency though, and you should do that. Have you joined any FL search groups? Finding in FL is one I know of with several experience search angels for FL searching. What do you know about your birth mother - any rumors you've heard or paperwork you have? You may be able to get a copy of the final decree of adoption, most likely you aparents would need to make that request - you birth surname could be on the form.

OK, so heres my question. I was born in Florida in January 1962, (or at least thats what my birth certificate says) private adoption took place July 1962 in Lake County Illinois. Do you think they would have a copy of my original birth certificate in their files?

CLS,As jo1959 stated, as long as your birth mother did not ask to have the information redacted, you should be able to obtain your OBC with your mother's name on it.However, you father's name may never have been on the OBC. Because my b-parents were not married at the time, only my mother's name was on the birth certificate.

Candy, I found my birth mom, and a half brother. We were two of six. She kept him and another half sister and gave away two boys before me and then me. The state says if the brothers look for her, they will be connected to me, since I filed the info to get in touch with them. Unfortunately, so far, she is unable to remember who my father is, and his name was "Legally Omitted". It's been a long journey, but the outcome hasd been positive. Thanks.
That's awesome! Congrats!
If you have your older brother's exact DOB's and POB's I may be able to help you find them, if you want. :wings:

Do you have any idea how old Faye Robinson was when you were born, or if she was born and lived in FL? If you do get your non id that information, at least her age, should be there and it would be helpful.

Hi Sister7, Thanks for your reply. Yes, I have a copy of my decree. B-moms name was Faye Robinson,, my bname was Tracy Robinson. I tried to get non identifying info a few years ago, and they sent me back the forms as they were not notarized. I will go get them notarized. It just gets old and depressing always hitting dead ends,
