First, thank you for any prayers regarding our situation. Prayers, blessings, and an amazing child are the reason were still sane :) .We had a great relationship with a 'birth mother to be' who chose us via a local agency. For two months everything with her was so great that my wife and I eventually felt that she was so perfect - maybe something was wrong.We were right. She had lied about almost everything she told us about her life and her situation - which we've heard is not so uncommon. By the way, this was to be an open adoption.What happened is SUCH a LONG story that I'll have to post the rest of the story after I get some sleep. I'm hurrying to post now because of the dire financial situation we're in due to the legal fees we can no longer afford.We spent $77K defending ourselves against claims that were completely false. Luckily we could prove them all to be false. Now that we're down to the last two months before the final amount is due we've become desperate to find the money...So we're here looking for more prayers. By the way, we have filed a complaint against the lawyers who chose to pursue the frivolous suit - More on that in the coming weeks.The true blessing is that our son is amazing. He's the happiest and most personable nine month old child we've ever encountered. He's healthy and has a tremendous extended family who all loves him immensely.Unfortunately birth-mother still has no job, car, money, etc. so the prayers that we're saying and asking for are for her as well as for our financial situation.We hope no one reading this ever has to experience what we've gone through. If anyone wants more information, I'd be glad to share the story.Thanks again for any thoughts and prayers!!!
