I hope that EVERYONE from Indiana is aware of the petition at Indiana Foster Care and Adoption Association (Indiana Foster Care & Adoption Association) because this is a CRISIS situation! We have adopted 4 Special Needs Children here in Indiana, after the creation of the Waiting List! I have been blogging, complaining, & posting on Facebook for a couple years about this situation!
1. I want to give Thanks & Praise to Grace Trahan of Channel 6 News for recently airing a story of this tragedy!
Link to the Story: Adoption Subsidy Cut Black Mark On Indiana, Some Say - Indiana News Story - WRTV Indianapolis
Adoption Subsidy Cut Black Mark On Indiana, Some Say
2. I want to also Thank Indiana State Senator John Broden for his hard work towards this situation and his quote in the above story; ""There's a moral obligation here. We should not be trying to balance our state budget on the backs of abused and neglected children," Broden said.
3. Be sure that when you visit the ifcaa website, to also 'Rest' your mouse pointer over the heading 'Adoption' & see the last item in the list 'State Adoption Subsidy' to click on it. THIS IS A MUST READ!!! & SHARE!!!
4. The above story will confirm that $104 million was moved from Indiana Children's Services to the General Fund, plus, you can take that figure and add the $320 million that was recently found from Indiana Sales Tax EBT collection, and you will know without a shadow of a doubt, that just as stated in our CONTRACTS FOR THE ADOPTION SUBSIDY WAITING LIST, there is indeed, ADEQUATE FUNDING AVAILABLE!
5. It would have only taken $7 million of that to have kept those broken promises made to the 500 Abused, Neglected, Special Needs Children that were adopted post December 2009.
6. There are 3,211 Children waiting to be adopted in Indiana! This is all so shameful!
7. Indiana is the only state with a 'Waiting List' but New Hampshire carries this same shame as these 2 states are the only states that have turned their backs on these children!
I communicate most frequently on Facebook as Steve'n Angie Finney. We all need to unite and be a voice for these children!
Thank You, Angie Finney

You go Girl! My signature has been on this petition for months. I have also contacted Sen. Broden. I am hoping he re-introduces SB357 again this year. so far it is not on the schedule. I have written Mitch Daniels several times and am now not even getting responses. It is a shame that they offer and mandate all apply. Then say they dont have the money. after all the lost money and returned money. There was evena plan to automatically refund taxpayers if there was so much percentage over the budget forecast.Uh, Hello!!??
You know that there is a bill being presented regarding secret compartments in cars right now.. why even waste time and money reading a bill like that when there are so many other more important things to spend those resources on!

RE: Please Pass SB 348
Dear General Assembly Member,
I would first like to give praise to Indiana Senator John Broden for caring about Indiana's Abused & Neglected Special Needs Children! I want to personally thank every legislator that will help to get this SB 348 Passed! I am so thankful that once you became aware of this dire situation of children waiting to get adopted and adopted after 2009, you will likely choose to show compassion for these abused & neglected Special Needs children, just like 48 other United States are currently doing for these children.
My faith and belief in you supporting and passing this bill allows me to Thank You now, for keeping these promises to these children. You may have not been aware that $104 million had been returned from the General Fund FROM Children's Services when these children needed that support and I am sure that you are well aware of the $320 million that has been discovered in the EBT Sales Tax Payments, therefore displaying, that as stated in the Indiana State Adoption Subsidy Waiting List CONTRACTS (Promises made), there has been and is currently, adequate funding to fund the Indiana State Adoption Subsidy Waiting List.
Thank You for supporting and helping to Pass SB 348!
Sincerely,

It will only take $14 million, of the $320 million available, to help 1,000 Special Needs Children for 2 years! We all want these children to have a positive future in Indiana and not end up becoming burdens to our society. Please Help them to have a Forever Family!
Thank You for supporting and helping to Pass SB 348 , 2012 !
