I have been searching for my Bmom for 21years. I was born in New Orleans in 1973 and recieved my non-id on my 18th bday. I had a search angel tell me in 2002 what my bmom's possible name is. In 2003 my mother was contacted by a woman who thought i was her daughter..not a match, but we became friends and exchanged photos. She kept in touch with a friend from the girl's home and when I sent her my pic she thought we resembled each other. She then sent me a pic of her friend..wow. She provided me with the womans name, addy and number..had my seach angel look..not a match. 2005..Hurricane Katrine wiped away my birth city and my hopes of a reunion. 2010 I decided to give Kinsolving a try. I was told the information is not matching up with what they are finding..told me to get non id again..done..still no luck. While in a funk..ran across this email from 2003 with the pic and info on prev woman...let Kinsolving have that info to just confirm. I did reverse phone lookup and found names of other individuals at that residence..found facebook page for a young lady. Looking at her photos make me think I see a resembelence..not wanting to get my hopes up that I am reading something into this..my husband, sister, brother and best friend all saw the same things...ALOT of similarities with me and this young lady (who would be my younger sister). Kinsolving just confirmed..she is not my bmom. HUH? I swear I am looking at somebody related to me, the pic of the woman and the young lady. I have no idea what to do now since I was told this is not a match...
Can anyone tell me what you would do at this point? Thanks!
DO NOT HIRE PEOPLE FOR THIS. There are lots of great sites where all parties to adoption may place their info, search what others have posted, and find one another, without getting your hopes up and then crashing. Try G's Adoption website, also on FACEBOOK! Enter all the info you know to be true, your bithmom may have done the same. You don't need records, you know your place & date of bith, she certainly knows it; they also have FREE search angels. Follow instructions on the site, format especially. Good luck. Remember, if you're paying, they have reason to drag it out!!!

I was adopted back in 1956. At that time the Illinois Childrens Home and Aid Society change the babies birth dates to protect the biological mothers (they assumed that we would look through the birth announcements and find ourselves).
I found my biological mother by contacting the Illinois Childrens Home and Aid Society and requesting that they search for her. It took 7 years but she was found. I met her and it was then that I found out that the birth date I had grown up with was not mine. I now no my actual birth date.
Have you tried contacting the agency that performed the adoption and requesting that they locate your birth mother?
