if you had foster kids that were RU but you ended up adopting them, how long did it take to go thru the process from placement to adoption?
I know the rule is 15 months to TPR but how many times is that actually followed??

My lil girls parents signed voluntary TPR in June, we have had her since Jan. Her adoption finalization is set for Dec. So just under a year. But every case is different.

Both of my kids (not biologically related) came into foster care with a goal of RU. From placement to adoption finalization for one, 21 1/2 months. From placement to adoption finalization for another, 18 months. Both cases were pretty straight forward.
My current fs has been in foster care for 14 months with no goal change yet, let alone TPR.
It really is different each time.

In our foster support group in Blair County, I don't ever remember a case that adoption took place sooner than 18 months unless the birth family signed off and agreed to it.

Our first three(bio brothers) from placement to adoption was almost 3 years. Our most recently adopted son from placement to adoption a little over 9 1/2 years. In both cases parents signed voluntary termination.

My FD was placed in August 2010
*Court Dec 2010 plan is to RU
*Court June 2011 RU approved due to parent complied
*Court Dec 2011 concurrent plan changed from RU to adoption (17 months in placement) due to parent left the state in June when the RU was approved :confused:
*Court April 2012 Petition to Terminate rights requested
*Court May 2012 TPR granted by Judge
*Court Sept 2012 Adoption finalized:banana:
* Just over 2 years
