Adopting threw DCF

I am adopting threw my local DCF office. i started the process last Oct. my homestudy was approved for 2 children in july of this year. i know ive only been waiting a short time but, im ready to be a mom can anyone offer me some advice on adopting threw DCF.

I am adopting as a single 28 African American female in the state of MA. my age range is 0-5.

Your age range may limit you. Is there any way you can raise your age limit?

I could change the age range, but only by about 2 years to 7 because I didn't want to seem to young to have a older child. I am 28

I am adopting thru DCF also. I started out wanting to adopt 4-10 years of age girl and boy. Which quickly changed after meeting a 3yr & 6yr old girl. I would move the age range up a couple years as you mentioned. IF you are matched with a 2yr old that has a 6 year old sibling would you turn that down? My point is I wouldn't limit it too much. As you can see, we didn't exactly stick with a boy and girl or the 4-10. We met them at a picnic and fell in love.

Thank you guys for the advice. I don't mind taking an older child out of my requested age as long as one is in that range

I would certainly stick to your desired age range and just wait it out.

I know that it seems like an eternity, but it really does go by quickly.
