RAD isn't really genetic. It's developmental based on early childhood experience (even in utero).

Whilst there may be (probably is) a genetic factor in how resilient you are and how likely it is you might develop RAD, the condition itself is caused by envorinmental factors (abuse, neglect etc) so I would say no, I don't think there is any difference
When we were dealing with an attachment therapist (for years), there was discussion about the incidence of white kids having RAD vs other ethnicities. I've never seen any stats on this; but, I know she (the therapist) and I talked about this more than once. At that time, years ago, it DID seem overwhelmingly that more white kiddos had RAD than other ethnicities. Enough....at least at that time, there were those (professionals) who considered there might be some sort of genetic component.
I have to admit, if you believe RAD is on the autistic spectrum...and knowing there IS theory autism is connected to genetics, then why wouldn't /couldn't it be possible for RAD to be so as well?
Sincerely,
Linny

I tend to believe RAD is more on the anxiety spectrum, and sensitivity to anxiety is hereditary. But I wouldn't think it's racially based necessarily.
