So NO Termination of Parental Rights Hearing next week-B moms lawyer needs more time to prepare. (Original lawyer didn't come back from m-leave but that was months ago!!!!) Really???? Cause after 22 months of the bios doing NOTHING (still using, homeless, & jobless) who can't be bothered to show for weekly visits-they've missed more than half of them-this idiot lawyer thinks they have a case????? So maybe if we are lucky the new dates will be Sept/Oct @ which time FS will be 28 months old.....& in the meantime we can't get a passport to travel & the weekly visits continue-while the bios DO NOTHING to work their case plan. I honestly do not know how these lawyers or judges sleep @ night.....DCPP has not done ONE thing they said they would in this case. My case is a prime example of why children age OUT in foster care-these cases are not about the child & permanency that is for sure. I feel like telling the caseworker "don't tell me the new dates-just tell me when it's over!"
Sorry for the rant
I'm so sorry!
I'm right there with you. My STAD , is 18 month old, TPR was supposed to be last month, got cancelled, now we will 'try again' in 2 weeks... which puts her close to 19 month.
BM has done ZERO, and not only for this child, but for all the other children neither, she has none of them, but still, we all have to go 'through the motions', with every single kid she has,
sometimes I wonder if she has one kid after the other, so she can keep the free buspasses coming!!:grr:
I hope you get a new date soon!!!
I totally agree with you, enough is enough already!! how many times do they need 'chances' over chances, NOT working their plan ?

This is how this terrible system works. After 2 years we are finally about to adopt our FS. We were told that this process was short because the bios relinquished their rights. 2 years of a child's life is not short. Bios are given too many chances and all it does is leave an innocent child without permanency. I find it ironic that dyfs is now dcp&p because permanency never seems to the goal. I hope rights are terminated soon so your family can finally feel some sort of stability and permanence!!!
Its really very suffocating when the vicious circle goes on and on with no results at all. But this is how the system works and one can do nothing about it.
We understand you.....and in our case, and others it is know better......we are going on 5 yrs now....and TPR,has happened 3 times now,and then change.........it goes so far ,then they go back....start over............that is how they protect there well being......very flawed system.
Our FD, b'mom had court today, and said (court)we have to let her have to do all this crazy stuff,phone,transportation,..........we will do what is right for her......
