We have been searching all the state photo listing sites and we are interested in children in different states, would those states be able to help with the homestudy, if there marriage laws are different? We really were hoping to adopt with in the next year, so waiting at least 2 years, just to be able to be considered for adoption, seems very upsetting.
Thanks for any information you may have

Needless to say, we did not go with a state adoption.

I live in Arizona and I wonder the same thing.
We've been together for 6 years and we are getting married in April.
In most states the couple needs to be married at least two years before they can have a completed homestudy. I have heard of a state who only requires one year..... Sometimes the time before the wedding is counted.... In Oregon it is the time from the day of the weddding that is counted and no exceptions of the two-year rule are made.
